Southwest Ambulance is the largest ambulance transportation provider in Arizona with more than 1200 employees, 300 ambulances and nearly 100 ambulance stations in Maricopa, Pinal, Pima and Graham counties.  Providing the communities we serve with skilled, caring and patient-focused professionals is at the heart of our vision.

Pool Pack supports Valley drowning prevention

2,695 Arizona children learned to swim in 2010 thanks to Southwest Ambulance’s Pool Pack Drowning Prevention Program. Since the inception of this program, Southwest Ambulance has donated more than $250,000 to local aquatics and parks and recreation departments to provide free or reduced cost swim lessons to Valley residents.

On-site, fully accredited Paramedic Academy

Southwest Ambulance is one of only a few private providers qualified to offer paramedic academies in Arizona. Our courses adhere to the U.S. Department of Transportation, National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Paramedic National Standard Curriculum.

Bariatric expertise

In 2002, Southwest Ambulance was the first, and only, ambulance provider to introduce a bariatric ambulance into its fleet of vehicles. Bariatric ambulances are equipped with integrated ramps, electric winches and specially-designed gurneys to provide necessary, dignified medical care to obese patients. The success of our bariatric program has served as a model for many other providers and organizations throughout the United States.

Southwest Ambulance is proud of our relationship with the International Association of Firefighters (IAFF). Our field employees belong to and are represented by the IAFF, Local I-60. The union organization, headquartered in Washington, D.C., represents more than 298,000 full-time professional fire fighters and paramedics, including our local fire fighter partner.

Honoring those who serve

Southwest Ambulance's Salute our Troops Unit is the biggest way we could find to say "thank you" to the men and women who serve our country. The Salute our Troops ambulance displays a unique collection of images depicting World War II, Vietnam, and A-10 "Warthog" aircraft, the Boeing AH-64 Apache Longbow helicopter, and a mix of notable, inspirational quotes.

Safety first

Southwest Ambulance's mantra is, "be safe, work smart and go home safely." All field personnel are trained in Occupational Health and Safety Administration (OSHA) requirements and field safety. Our employees know that safety on the job is their highest priority.
